Get an unrestricted license at 17½
Pennsylvania lets junior license holders upgrade at 17½ when they have:
- Completed driver's education: 30 hours of theory and 6 hours behind the wheel
- Held a junior license for 12 months
- No crashes they were responsible for and no convictions
- A parent or guardian's consent on PennDOT form DL-59

Walk into PennDOT prepared
The course covers Pennsylvania's traffic laws, signs, signals and road markings, and the skills examiners look for, from turns and lane changes to parking.
You'll be better prepared for your PennDOT permit exam and road exam.

Become a safer driver
Perception, space management, bad weather, impaired driving and sharing the road. The course builds the defensive habits that keep new drivers out of trouble.
